Iscream ice cream3/28/2023 It’s like a "screwball" in that it’s ice cream and a gumball. When I was growing up it was the "bubble play," a baseball themed treat. What’s my favorite item from the ice cream truck? So I invited some friends and their kids to send me recordings of themselves singing along or making animal sounds, or just expressing themselves and having fun! For listeners, I wanted the song to be an invitation to sing along, or scream along, make some animal sounds, whatever feels good. It was really fun to play with the sounds of the words - the ice cream product names are wacky and fun - cherry dip, firecracker, choco taco, drum stick. The other aspect i wanted to highlight in the lyrics was wordplay and rhyme, which of course is the central element of the “chorus” - the part we all know. of all ages! So, it seemed like the song could be a good place to celebrate these heroes of summer and their importance in our experience of summer, family, friends, and childhood. Ice cream truck owners work really hard to bring ice cream to kids. Parts are expensive, finding a spot is very competitive. I did some research into the ice cream truck world, and turns out it’s not easy to maintain a mobile ice cream shop. Well even though this song was written 30 years before ice cream trucks were a thing, in my mind theres a very logical path from the ice cream song to summer and the ice cream truck tradition. ![]() The hook is so clever and fun! But then I listened to the whole song and, lets just say it really needed some new lyrics! ![]() On the actual show interview we didn't have much time, so here's some behind-the-scenes glimpses into my process.Īs soon as I heard Alison mention it on the show, I got excited about it, I checked out some other songs from the list you put together, but I kept coming back to the ice cream song. The Ice Cream song, copyrighted in 1927, just entered the public domain in 2023! Here are some (lightly reworded) highlights from my pre-show interview with one of the show's producers, Simon. I made this version of the old classic as part of the Public Song Project, produced by WNYC's "All Of It" - they compiled submissions of public domain material in song form. This track was one of 3 winners in the Public Song Project contest of 2023! It should be noted that once a character has chosen a certain job, he/she cannot change it. All future job advancements will merely refine and strengthen this initial choice. It should be noted that you may be over the level to make the job advancement, but this is not recommended, especially if you are a magician or a warrior, as you will lose HP or MP, depending on your class. The first job choice decides the class of the character. Each job has different stat requirements. All jobs require the player to be at least level 10 prior to advancement. Players are faced with 5 choices: the Warrior, Bowman, Thief, Magician or Pirate. Without question, the Pathfinder Pro’s are going to be my tire of choice heading into SBT GRVL 2019. Just a second off my PR on this 1-mile gravel/dirt affair. I was a mere 1 second off my best time, and I wasn’t even pushing hard. What you see below is a mile of mixed gravel (smooth and rocky) with a couple of little punchy climbs mixed in. And, rolling gravel with mixed climbs are great - with excellent efficiency on fast sections. Short, steep, rocky, anaerobic climbs can be powered through with excellent traction. I’ve been able to push these tires hard on gravel and really love how they hook up on climbs, flats and descents.Īs with all tires, you can get the rear tire to let loose on climbs, but a little balance goes a long way and I’ve been surprised at the terrain these can tackle. That fast-rolling center is awesome on pavement and those tear-shaped side knobs make for excellent dirt performance. Mixed road/dirt rides are just what the Pathfinder is made for. Very confident on all variety of dirt and gravel. The angulation you can achieve with the Pathfinders is off-the-charts as I’ve enjoyed every curvy downhill I’ve encountered. climb above turns into a whale of a downhill with twisty, turny corners that, with the Pathfinder 700×38’s, felt like a playground. What’s flat-out amazing about these tires on the road is the sheer grip they offer when cornering at speed. Atop the Alpine Loop, the 38’s did quite well. What’s awesome about their on-road performance is the sheer comfort and ability to dart onto any gravel or dirt road you may encounter. As an added bonus on the road, hitting the shoulder, if needed, is no big deal. Again, this is to be expected and shouldn’t be a big deal, but just be aware. Other comparison tests between both the 650b and 700c versions showed that they are consistently about 5% slower on extended climbs as compared to fast-rolling road tires. The climb up American Fork Canyon was a touch slower than my typical 1:05 time. I’d say there is a 5-8% efficiency loss as compared to fast-rolling 28mm tires, which added about 6-8 minutes to my average time. road climb, the 700×38’s yielded slightly to faster, narrower tires. Depending on the terrain, I raised and lowered the pressure accordingly. Out on the road, both tire sizes perform very well with that wide, fast-rolling center channel at 35-40 psi. Regardless of tire size, my pro tip is to keep an eye on that direction arrow before mounting these up. I resorted to a tire lever), should the need arise. Removal, however, is pretty difficult (e.g. The 650b’s are a little more stubborn on the Roval CLX 32 650b’s, but can still be installed without tools. Mounting was a breeze and seating them up with the Blackburn Chamber Tubeless Pump was quick-and-easy. ![]() Installation of the 700×38 Pathfinders was entirely tool and curse-free with my thumbs doing all the work. Both were set up exclusively tubeless, using Bontrager sealant. I’ve had the 700c’s mounted up to the Bontrager Aeolus Pro 3V wheels while the 650b’s were mounted on the Roval CLX 32 650b wheels. But, would the 700×38 or 650×47 become the best go-to rubber? That gets a little murky, but it’s fair to say both are great options heading into 100 miles of blissful Colorado gravel. With a trip to the Midwest in June and SBT GRVL in August, the search for the perfect all-road tire pointed squarely to the Pathfinder Pro. To get rid of his protective mask, either use the Hookshot or bombs, afterwards kill him any way you like. In the next room, jump across to the platform with the masked Hiploop. To be able to use them, open the chest that appears to get the Light Arrows! Once he is dead, he will tell you about the red switches. An easy way to do is is to simply put on the Goron Mask and do a Goron Pound as he attacks, which will dodge his attack and allow you to punch him right away if the pound didn't already hit. Use this opportunity to strike, and immediately get your shield up to prepare against his counterattack. You only have a chance to reach him if you dodge his attack, which will render him confused for a short while. If you block his attack he will immediately stand up. First deflect light to one of the center mirrors for a while, then run across and deflect the light to the mirror on the wall. You'll need to use the mirrors to get rid of the sun block on the opposite side. Once through the passage, surface and climb out of the pool. Afterwards, jump back into the pool and swim through the passage below the Dexihand. Don't kill it! Let yourself be grabbed by it and it will throw you upwards. Put on the Zora Mask, jump into the pool and swim across, where you'll see a Dexihand. Afterwards, kill the Armos Statues beside the chest and inside the lava (they're hurt by Goron Link's punch) to make a treasure chest appear containing a Small Key. Roll across as a Goron and open the chest to get the Dungeon Map. Drop down the hole (it's a long way down so it's best to use the Goron to roll down) and use the Mirror Shield to deflect light onto the sun block to make it disappear. In here, the dark area on the floor that doesn't have grass growing on it is meant to be bombed. Pick them up and place them on the switches to keep them held, allowing you to get through to the next area. The big switch's meant for the Goron, the other two are for Human and Zora Link, but how do you depress the fourth switch? The answer's simple: look around to find a cracked wall and bomb it to discover a few small crates hidden behind a row of large ones. In this room, there are four switches that all need to be pressed at once to make the gate to the next area open. ![]() The entrance room isn't too interesting, so go through the left door.
